Road Tax is charged at the Registration Office of a vehicle. Every car registered in Singapore needs to have a valid road tax certificate as mandated by the law. The road tax needs to be renewed yearly or each 6 to 12 months thereafter, as per the specified norms. To make road tax collection simpler for the tax authorities, the Central Provident Fund (CPF) also issues a road tax renewal notice for all vehicles that come on the roads of Singapore.-One motoring

In case you wish to renew your road tax, you need to comply with all the requisites specified in the notice. Please note that you are not required to pay for an appraisal of the roadworthiness of your vehicle before you get a renewal notice. You need to make sure that your vehicle complies with the road traffic law, and has all the necessary safety features. If there are any mechanical faults with your car, it will be essential for you to fix these problems prior to applying for a renewal. If your car displays excellent roadworthiness, and if it does not have any serious mechanical faults, then please note that it will be eligible for a tax remission.

Before getting a road tax renewal notice, it is essential that you meet all the eligibility requirements specified in the notice. A good example of the requirement includes meeting the age limit for a vehicle licence; that is, the minimum age is 18 years old. It is also important that you possess a valid driving license from the concerned state or province, and that you have no other road traffic offence convictions on your record. This is because: if your vehicle licence is suspended, you will not be able to obtain a motorised vehicle licence until the suspension is lifted.

Another thing that you have to take into account when preparing to pay for road tax renewal is the amount of insurance that you carry. In most provinces, this type of insurance is compulsory, and you will have to acquire it before you apply for a road tax renewal notice. Usually, this type of insurance is referred to as ‘passive insurance’, because you don’t need to worry about paying for road tax if you are at fault in an accident. However, if you get into an accident that is your fault, then you have to provide proof of insurance before you can renew your road tax licence. In some provinces, the number of occupants in the vehicle (the insured passengers) is also taken into consideration when calculating the amount of insurance, and you will have to provide proof of insurance before you can renew your licence.

When you renew your road tax note, the next thing that you have to do is pay for the vehicle inspection certificate. Most road tax collection centres will require you to pay for this before you can obtain a renewal notice. The inspection certificate is issued to the Ministry of Transportation, and it is used to check the condition of your vehicle. In addition to this, the inspection certificate also records any damage or repairs that have been made to your vehicle during the road tax renewal notice period. You will have to provide your vehicle inspection certificate along with the road tax renewal notice before you can obtain a new road tax note. If you are not required to pay for the inspection certificate before you get a road tax renewal notice, then you need to contact the Ministry of Transportation or your insurance provider to get an inspection certificate.

Road Tax is collected by all of the major car insurers in Singapore, and they all operate through the GIO. Road Tax is administered at the post office and is collected by GIO agents at their respective stations. There are many road tax collecting offices in Singapore. If you are living in the city of Singapore and want to get your tax collected by the GIO, you can contact GIO Commercial Services Limited which is the Centralised Revenue Collection Department for Singapore.
